Welcome to the The Southlanders Edsel Owners Club Website
We are dedicated to the preservation and restoration of the Edsel Automobile. Edsel was a division of the Ford Motor Company for the model years, 1958, 1959, and 1960.
The Edsel was produced to provide an intermediate priced car to fill the gap between Ford and Mercury. The Edsel debuted on September 4,1957 and the last Edsel produced was November 19, 1959. In addition, the Edsel featured the most technically advanced features available at that time, most famously the “Teletouch” drive with the transmission selector located in the center of the steering wheel.
This truly unique automobile was designed to compete with the Oldsmobile and the mid-priced De Soto from Chrysler.
Featured on our new website, is information and stories about our club events and members. Also included is membership information, making it easier to join than in the past.
Our most valuable asset in our club is our membership. Our members enjoy monthly activities, fellowship with other Edsel enthusiasts, and a parts source for your Edsel.
In order to receive our Newsletter each month and participate in future events, membership is a must.
If you have an Edsel or other collectible car or am interested in acquiring one, you are welcome to join.
Hope you enjoy your visit to the new website.
Sincerely.
Frank Foley
